Lately I've been subbing a lot and i've noticed some really interesting things. First of all, in the classroom I observed, the teacher still sings "One, two, three little indiands.." in order to review the numbers with the children!
Also, yesterday a teacher in the room next to mine was celebrating cinco de mayo with her students by having them break a pinata. When one of the students asked what the significance of Cinco de Mayo was, she responded with... "I don't really know!"
If you were going to teach your children about a holiday and have them participate in it, wouldn't you at least research it a little bit. I thought both of these situations were very interesting and blog worthy.
